Political discourse

I hang out a lot on a political website and whenever there's an article about Ron Paul, several users always come out to complain about Paul's supporters, or as his detractors call them, "Paultards." They're extremely obnoxious and rather ignorant and given to misspelling words (hence the "your" instead of "you're"). And they like to call people they disagree with "fags" or "'tards." So, they're special people. I decided that I needed to draw what I think they look like. They probably live in their mothers' basements, too.

This started as a labor of love. Now it's more like a labor of lunacy or something. I like to do paintings on the side of schoolwork because I find doing illustrative, painterly work to be therapeutic.
But lately, I HATE everything I do and nothing seems to turn out the way I want it to.
Can you tell that I like painting their faces most of all? Yeaaaah.
I have no idea what Elias is doing to Carriel. Coercing her into sex? Maaaaaybe. I wouldn't put it past him.

This is at least a year old and obviously unfinished. I had an idea to do portraits of the three main characters of my 1920s French fantasy story. And then have them hanging in the parlor of a more minor character while she knitted. And the portraits would all sort of stare at each other.
But at some point I realized that I was putting waaaay too much time into the portraits, particularly since I wasn't sure how to stage everything. So it got scrapped. :x
( Oho, waaaaaait a minute... )
